We are in 2023 and the term " Online business " has gained so much popularity, that you almost won't end a day without hearing it somewhere or from someone.
According to Statista.com, " as global internet access and adoption rapidly increase, with over five billion internet users worldwide, the number of people making purchases online is ever-increasing. In 2022, retail e-commerce sales were estimated to exceed 5.7 trillion U.S. dollars worldwide, and this figure is expected to reach new heights in the coming years." Very interesting, isn't it ?
Before going into our topic for today, let's first of all understand what " online business " means.
An online business is simply any form of commerce or transaction done on an electronic platform. An Online business may be from selling goods / products to selling services. Any form of online exchange that result into sales, is an online business.
Having that in mind, the potential to create a business online is limitless. Basically anyone can create an online business. Yes anyone.
Nevertheless it shouldn't be because having an online business is the "new thing" today, that you should just jump into it.
Why should you consider having an online business ?
Even though starting an online business doesn't require much money, the foundation is to have a good product or service which is in demand. If you are passionate about something, a product or a service that could be an answer to someone's need out there, then going online could be the next big thing for you.
Now knowing that something is in need on the market isn't enough. How passionate are you about what you want to offer ? If you are not deeply in love and in sync with what you want to offer, trust me, you won't survive for long.
How familiar are you with social media platforms ? Do you find it easy or enjoy surfing most social media platforms ?
You will find it very difficult to adjust yourself if you are not familiar or comfortable with them, at least you should be familiar with the two most popular platforms ( Facebook & Instagram), where you can easily start from.
Running an online business, can turn into a torn in your flesh, if it isn't coming from within. Don't venture into starting an online business if your aren't going to be fully dedicated to it. I am not being negative, very far from that, but lot of people have regretted starting an online business because they did not prepare enough and they were just following others. Some also were just copying other people businesses and hard work.
I believe starting on online business should first start from within, with true passion and dedication towards what you want to offer.

In conclusion, let me summarize my points. You should start an online business because you have identified a product or a service, which is needed or is an answer to a problem out there, something that you are very much passionate about.
When we choose to make the world a better place, by helping others finding answers to their problems, prosperity and success have no option than to follow us.
